(A) Shown is a representative immunoblot for FMRP expression in wild-type (wt) and APPswe/PS1ΔE9 (APPswe) mice on either mGluR5+/+or mGluR5-/- genetic backgrounds. The data shown in (B) represent the mean ± SD of four independent experiments demonstrating increase FMRP protein expression in APPswe mice that is lost following the genetic deletion of mGluR5. The * indicates a statistically (P 0.05) significant differences in FMRP expression between APPswe/PS1∆E9 mice and wild-type mice.
